Services & products

The look is complete.
So is the bill.

A haircut, glossing, an extra conditioning treatment – and a favourite shampoo to take home. In your salon, they belong together. At checkout, too.

Megara lets you add services and products to a single transaction. Your prices, variants and options reflect your offer, helping your team select the right items and keep the bill clear.

The operational benefit: One receipt makes it easier to check that every service and product has been included. Fewer follow-up questions, less rework – and a calmer checkout.

The key benefit

Every service deserves its place on the bill.

Finding services and products quickly

Product pictures and clear categories help your team find the right item, even in a larger range. Variants and options support different sizes or service levels. We configure the selection around your daily work so that related items are easy to find.

Advice & retail sales

New colour.
The right care to go with it.

The colour looks great. Now comes the question: how can your client keep it looking good at home? Suitable care products complete your advice.

Related products can be configured as recommendations in Megara. Your team can see the selected products during the sale and add them straight to the bill.

For your salon, this creates an opportunity for extra retail sales from an existing visit. What matters is the contribution left after product and variable selling costs.

The key benefit

An existing visit. A relevant recommendation. A new opportunity.

What could this mean for my business?

Examples show how small changes could affect your salon. The assumptions can be discussed for your actual operation.

Illustrative example

Three perspectives.
One clearer overview.

Additional monthly contribution€528.00

3 × €8.00 × 22 = €528.00

Illustrative calculation, not a revenue forecast. Contribution per product is after product and variable selling costs. The result is before fixed costs.

Time available for other tasks

30 × 40 sec × 22 days = 7 h 20 min

If each of 30 daily checkouts took 40 seconds less, that would release 7 hours and 20 minutes over 22 working days. This is available time, not an automatic saving in payroll costs.

Cash available for other needs

20 bottles × €15 = €300

Leaving 20 unnecessary bottles out of the next order at a net purchase price of €15 each would leave €300 available. This is a purchasing example, not a recurring monthly return.

Contribution, time and cash are different measures and are not added together.

Stock management & purchasing

Your shelves hold
your money, too.

Your bestseller is nearly gone, while twelve bottles of another product are still on the shelf. Knowing stock levels and sales helps you plan purchases more carefully.

Megara connects products, incoming goods, sales and stocktaking. Reorder suggestions can help based on configured stock thresholds. Supplier orders and the appropriate order documents can then be prepared. Returns to suppliers can also be documented.

Your business benefit: You can avoid unnecessary reorders and keep track of orders and returns. Stock and sales data help you see which products are popular and which stay on the shelves longer, so you can allocate the cash tied up in stock more carefully.

The key benefit

Thoughtful stock levels create room on the shelf and in your purchasing budget.

Reorder, document returns and check stock

Colour-protection products are running low. A reorder suggestion based on your stock thresholds supports preparation; products and quantities can be assigned to a supplier and recorded as an order. A return document can be created for goods going back. During stocktaking, you compare counted quantities with recorded stock. Barcode scanners or supported camera scanning can help, depending on the device. We agree the method of sending orders to your supplier with you.

Clients, vouchers & individual terms

“The same as last time”
gets easier.

A favourite product, a recurring preference, a special arrangement: regular clients bring their history with them. When your team has the right information to hand, they can build on it.

Megara manages client records centrally. Notes and previous invoices help your team review past purchases and recorded preferences. Individual terms can be assigned to clients or client groups, for example as part of an agreed offer for regulars.

Vouchers and rechargeable customer cards complement personal service. Balances, top-ups and redemptions remain traceable, supporting both gifts and prepaid credit for later visits.

Settle in instead of dictating details. The client self-registration mode lets clients enter their contact details on a device configured for this purpose. While your team prepares for the visit, the record is created directly in the system. We agree which fields are shown for your salon.

Your business benefit: Less data entry at reception and clearer handovers within the team. Relevant offers can encourage return visits. With prepaid credit, you can also see the value still available for future services.

The key benefit

Good service often starts with a well-informed team.

What this could look like in your salon

A new client enters her contact details on the tablet provided. Your team does not need to copy them from a paper form later. At her next visit, existing notes and previous invoices help the team pick up on preferences and product purchases. A specialised consultation form or an additional points programme would be planned separately.

Team, permissions & time tracking

A strong team.
Clear processes behind it.

A consultation at the front, colour being mixed at the back, and the phone ringing in between. When several people work together, responsibilities and checkout routines need to be clear.

Individual user accounts and appropriate permissions let you decide who can access each function. Discounts, corrections and other sensitive actions can be restricted accordingly. Bookings at the till and completed bills can be associated with the relevant users.

Time tracking supports the recording of working hours. Alongside sales data, this provides a basis for business reporting. If you want to allocate revenue to the stylists who actually performed a service, or split it between several people, we will agree the appropriate recording process with you separately.

A clear basis for revenue sharing. The user closing report includes a basic percentage commission calculation. Together, we check whether the revenue allocation and calculation basis fit your remuneration model. With a suitable setup, it can reduce repetitive calculations.

Your business benefit: Clearer responsibilities, traceable transactions and fewer handover questions. Recorded working hours support your organisation and provide inputs for further analysis.

The key benefit

More clarity for you. Clear responsibilities for your team.

Making staff allocation and commission useful

The existing commission calculation is based on revenue recorded in the user closing report. The person taking payment or entering a sale may not have performed the treatment. We therefore check the allocation and calculation basis before use. Different rates for products and treatments, splits between several stylists or full payroll processing require a separately agreed solution.

Pricing, materials & costing

Beautiful colour.
Thoughtful costing.

The price of a colour treatment covers more than the visible result: colour, developer, care products, working time and the cost of running your salon. Understanding these factors helps you plan your offer on a sound basis.

Services and products can have variants, options and different prices. Individual terms and scheduled price changes support an offer that fits your business, helping you prepare different service levels or agreed promotions.

Components and standard quantities can be assigned to suitable items. These provide a basis for calculated stock consumption and material costs. Actual quantities used in an individual treatment may differ; the recorded recipe is a costing assumption.

New prices? Prepare ahead. A scheduled price change can be prepared in advance for an agreed date. Your team can coordinate the change and inform clients consistently. This makes it easier to prepare when your offer or costing changes.

Your business benefit: Better visibility of material costs helps you review prices, extras and offers more deliberately. For a complete profitability assessment, you also include working time, payroll, rent and other costs.

The key benefit

Thoughtful pricing gives your services a sound foundation.

From materials to a decision

A treatment uses a recorded standard quantity of colour and developer. When purchase prices change, you can review the material assumptions behind your costing. Whether to adjust the selling price also depends on treatment time, other costs and your salon concept. Once agreed, a price change can be prepared for the intended date.

Appointment workflows & integrations

A good day starts
with a clear overview.

One client is coming in for colour, a regular for a cut, with time for a consultation in between. A well-organised appointment plan gives your team direction before the first dryer starts.

If you already use an online booking system, we will review a suitable connection to Megara with you. This includes which appointment and service data can be transferred and which system remains responsible for scheduling.

Staff, workstations, different treatment durations and processing times are requirements we agree specifically for your salon. The aim is a joined-up process between your appointment plan and checkout, within the capabilities of the selected integration.

Your business benefit: A suitable connection can reduce duplicate entry and transcription errors, giving your team a better basis for preparing visits and completing the bill.

The key benefit

A good process connects planning with everyday salon work.

What we agree together

Which booking system do you use? What data should be transferred? How are changes and cancellations handled? How are staff, workstations and processing times scheduled? These answers determine the scope and setup of the integration.

Payments, tips & receipts

Pay. Smile.
See you soon.

The look is finished and the care products are packed. The final step should feel just as good: a clear bill and a straightforward payment.

Cash, connected card terminals and other configured payment methods can be included in the checkout process. Bills can be split and payments recorded across different methods. Tips can also be included in the appropriate workflow.

Take your receipt with you – including by QR code. Depending on your setup, receipts can be printed, saved as PDFs or sent by email. The customer display can also show a QR code for retrieving the invoice. Clients scan it with their smartphone. This digital service requires the appropriate setup and an internet connection.

A shared view brings clarity. A suitably configured customer display shows the services and products entered, together with the amount. Clients can follow the bill as it takes shape, helping you resolve questions before checkout is complete.

Your business benefit: Clear amounts make questions and checks easier. A digital receipt option can reduce printing and manual sending. Your team can complete the visit in a friendly, transparent way.

The key benefit

An easy checkout leaves room to look forward to the next visit.

Handling different payment requests

A family visits together but wants to pay separately. Suitable bill-splitting and payment functions support checkout, and existing credit can be included. The customer display lets clients follow the items entered. The QR code then offers an additional digital receipt option when the display and invoice retrieval are configured for it.

Reporting, closing & accounting

The last dryer goes quiet.
Your figures keep talking.

Was the day simply busy, or good for business too? Which services sold, which care products went home with clients, and what effect did discounts have? Recorded transactions give you a basis for exploring these questions.

Megara provides reports on sales, products, revenue and other till activity. Average bill values, payment methods, recorded discounts and cancellations help you understand changes. Their meaning depends on how services and products are configured and entered in your salon.

Daily closing, cash balances and cash counting support end-of-day reconciliation. Available accounting exports, including DATEV, can be configured for your accounting workflow. Fiscal functions and the relevant data exports are configured for the individual installation.

The time of day tells a story, too. The hourly report groups revenue by the hour in which transactions were entered. This lets you examine sales patterns throughout the day and compare them with your processes. It reflects entries at the till; actual treatment durations and chair occupancy need additional information.

Your business benefit: A better basis for decisions about your range, prices and processes, with less manual collation at closing time. Assessing profit also requires your full business costs.

The key benefit

Give your business instincts some figures to work with.

Promotions, new prices, different daily patterns: take a closer look

A care-product promotion runs for a month. Compare quantities sold, revenue and recorded discounts with a suitable period, taking product costs into account. This helps you judge whether the promotion makes business sense for your salon. The hourly report adds a view of when transactions were entered. Opening days, price changes and unusual circumstances also matter when interpreting the results.

Local operation & availability

The internet takes a break.
Your salon still has plans.

A busy afternoon is no time for an internet outage. Megara runs locally on its own server, so local till processes do not require a permanent internet connection.

The server, devices and local network must still be working. Online booking, external card payment services and connections to other locations have their own connectivity requirements. We take these dependencies into account when planning your setup.

Your business benefit: Greater independence of the local till from your internet line. You can prepare for an outage and understand which tasks remain available on site.

The key benefit

Dependable operation starts with a suitable setup.

Planning for day-to-day operation

We review devices, the server and local network alongside the online services you need. This includes backups, responsibilities and sensible outage procedures. The specific equipment determines the contingency and recovery arrangements to be planned.

Multiple salons & shared records

Your salon grows.
Your overview grows with it.

A second location brings new opportunities and more coordination. Which products do both salons carry? Which prices should be shared? Where do you need a separate view of performance?

With appropriately configured synchronisation, selected products, prices and other records can be coordinated across locations. Each location can also be reviewed using its recorded data. Scope, responsibilities and exchange intervals are agreed for your business.

Your business benefit: Shared records can reduce repeated maintenance and support a more consistent offer. Looking at locations individually helps you spot differences and ask more focused questions about their causes.

The key benefit

More locations need clear responsibility for shared records.

Planning for several locations

We agree which records are maintained centrally, which remain local and how data is exchanged. Connectivity, synchronisation and comparable transaction rules provide the basis for useful location comparisons.

Individual solutions & fresh ideas

Your salon has character.
Your processes can, too.

A barbershop, hair and beauty studio or salon with several teams: your offer and working style determine the right combination. Together, we connect the areas that will make a practical difference.

These can include services, retail sales, client records, vouchers, time tracking, stock management, payments and suitable integrations. We adapt your product structure, prices, permissions, devices and reports to your business.

Want to explore further? A digital product catalogue at the chair or a suitable QR shop could complement your consultations. We assess these ideas individually using existing Megara functions and your requirements.

A regular agreement. A predictable billing routine. A monthly invoicing function is available for services billed repeatedly. A monthly care agreement is one idea we could assess together using this function. Service entitlements, treatment allowances and payment processing are agreed separately for the specific model.

Your business benefit: A setup that fits your processes can remove unnecessary intermediate steps. It provides a clear starting point and a basis for adding more when your salon needs it.

The key benefit

Individual functions become a process that fits your salon.

Planning recurring invoices and individual extensions

We start with your services, prices, devices and existing systems. For a monthly agreement, we also establish invoice items, client allocation and the payment method. The existing invoicing function is one component. A complete membership model with treatment allowances, different terms or automatic collection is assessed and planned separately.

Let’s start with your everyday work.

Show us your salon. Let’s connect the way you work.

Your services, your team, your requirements.

Plan your salon

These four areas provide the basis for a suitable proposal:

  1. Your services, products and prices
  2. Your team, workstations and locations
  3. Existing booking and payment systems
  4. The reports and workflows you need

Together, we use this to plan configuration, integrations and useful extensions.
