Home screen

The long menu list becomes a home screen organised into clear sections.

  1. Order entry

Previously at the top of the list; now the large dark “Buchungsmodus” tile under “Kasse & Gäste”.

  2. Customer management

Previously further down the list; now a dedicated “Kundenverwaltung” tile in “Kasse & Gäste”.

  3. User & sign out

Your user stays in the top right. Use the icon next to it to sign out.

  4. Open the operator closing

Previously in the menu list on the left; now beside booking mode under “Kasse & Gäste”. Open “Benutzerabschluss” here to review and close your operator account.

  5. Day-end closing stays separate

“Tagesabschluss” is further down under “Überblick & Organisation”. It changes the business day and is a separate function from the operator closing.

  6. Open table plans

Under “Überblick & Organisation”, select “Tischpläne” to open the new editor. Previously, plans were managed in the administration system, so marker 6 appears only on the new start screen.

    Explore the table plan editor
  7. Events

Previously in the list on the left, now a tile under “Kasse & Gäste” (Till & guests). Find dates, reservations and ticket sales here, now including connected Bookingkit events.

Order entry

Your order stays on the left, with items on the right. The main controls have new positions.

  1. Send order

The paper-plane icon at the top becomes the labelled “Bestellung senden” button at the bottom of the order panel.

  2. Add a customer

Use the plus next to the current customer in place of the red “Kunde hinzufügen” bar.

  3. More actions

The menu stays at the top: tap “Buchungsmodus” and its small arrow to open it.

Customer management

Find and select a customer on the left. Their details appear on the right.

  1. Find customers

Search stays at the top left. Use “Kunden suchen” to find the entry you need.

  2. New customer

The plus at the bottom is now the “Neuer Kunde” button above search.

  3. Open a customer profile

Tap an entry in the list to open the customer profile and its details on the right.

Edit customer details

Using Anna Beispiel as an example: here is how to change an existing customer’s details. All details in this comparison are fictional.

NowiPad · landscape

  1. Change basic details

Previously, a double tap opened the basic details. In the new design, “Bearbeiten” at the top right opens the name, company and other fields.

  2. Address & contact

Edit the phone number, email and address at the corresponding entry. They now appear in separate cards below the basic details; scroll down to the address if needed.

  3. Save your changes

The previous tick is now the “Speichern” button below the input fields. “Abbrechen” discards your changes.

Operator closing

Previously, the sections were stacked in the left-hand column. Now you choose a section on the left and work in its view on the right. The following guide walks through the changes.

BeforeiPad · landscape

NowiPad · landscape

  1. Choose the business day

The date selector previously at the top left is now labelled “Buchungstag” above the main area. It selects the day whose reports you view; it does not change the current business day.

  2. Your account or all accounts

Beside it, choose “Eigene Abrechnung” (your account) or “Alle Abrechnungen” (all accounts). Check this selection before reviewing cash counts, cancellations, sales or receipts. Extended choices depend on your permissions.

  3. Sections on the left, content on the right

Select Abschluss, Zählprotokoll, Offene Tische, Stornos, Zahlungsarten, Kategorien or Rechnungen & Belege on the left. Each opens its own view, so you can go straight to the task you need.

  4. Create the closing report

The green bar becomes the large dark button in “Abschluss”. Below it, “Einnahmen zählen”, “Tische prüfen” and “Stornos ansehen” open the preparation steps. The closing button tells you whether anything still needs attention.

Search for receipts, select an entry and open its details.

Count cash and save the count sheet

Select “Zählprotokoll”, then “Zählprotokoll erstellen”. The narrow form now has more room on the right. All amounts and quantities shown are fictional examples.

  1. Where the cash is held

Under “Ort der Einnahmen auswählen”, choose the relevant cash drawer or “Portemonnaie / eigene Kassenlade”. This selector now spans the area above the balance fields.

  2. Balances and quantities

“Startbestand” and “Endbestand” are side by side. Below them, enter the number of coins and banknotes. The new view spreads denominations across several columns; scroll to reach any remaining fields.

  3. Save or close

“Speichern” is at the top right of the open count sheet, beside the close icon. Check the selected cash location and values first. Saving the count sheet does not create the operator closing report.

Find invoices and receipts

The previous “Detailübersicht” is now “Rechnungen & Belege”. Search sits directly above the receipt area. The selected business day and account still determine which results are shown.

BeforeiPad · landscape

NowiPad · landscape

  1. A new name for familiar records

Select “Rechnungen & Belege” on the left to find the records previously shown in “Detailübersicht”. Select an entry to open its details.

  2. Search within the receipt area

The “Belegsuche” field is now above the results on the right. If a receipt is missing, also check the business day and whether “Eigene Abrechnung” or “Alle Abrechnungen” is selected.

  3. Clear the search

The X at the right of the field clears the search text. The business day and account selection stay unchanged. Receipt data is hidden in these screenshots.

Table plan

The previous table plan administration is shown on the left. The new editor lets you design rooms and seating layouts in one place. The numbered markers explain the new interface.

Now · Plan overviewiPad · landscape

  1. Start a new plan

Tap “Neuer Tischplan” at the top right. Name the layout, choose a room or create a new one. “Entwurf anlegen” opens the editor; the new plan is not active yet.

  2. Find rooms and layouts

The tabs filter plans by room. The pencil beside the room name opens room dimensions and linked POS areas. Select “Bearbeiten” on a card to edit that layout.

  3. Activate the finished plan

Each room has one active layout. A saved draft is used in the POS only after you select “Diesen Plan aktivieren”. This lets you prepare a wedding layout, for example, and switch to it later.

1. Set up the room

Select the pencil beside the room name to open “Raum bearbeiten”. These settings provide the shared basis for every layout in that room.

  1. Name and dimensions

Enter a clear room name, width and depth in metres. You can then refine its outline using “Raumform” in the editor.

  2. Link POS areas

Under “Bereiche dieses Raums”, select the relevant POS areas. These will open the active table plan. The screenshot uses illustrative area names.

  3. Save the room

“Raum speichern” saves these settings. Room dimensions and area links apply to every layout in the room, including the currently active plan.

2. Arrange tables and furniture

Choose objects on the left, arrange your plan in the centre and edit the selected object on the right. Enlarge the image to see the controls in detail.

NowiPad · landscape

  1. Add objects

Tap “Eckig” or “Rund” in the “Baukasten” to add a rectangular or round table. Benches, doors, plants and text are also available.

  2. Position with your finger

Drag an object into position. Use the handles on the selected object to resize it. “Einrasten” helps align objects, and “Rückgängig” undoes your last step.

  3. Properties and POS table

On the right, change the label, shape, size and number of seats. Scroll down in that panel to “Tisch in der Kasse” and link each table to the matching POS table. Entering a name alone does not create that link.

  4. Preview and save

“Vorschau” previews the plan; “Speichern” saves your changes. A draft stays a draft until activated. If you edit the active layout, saving makes the changes visible in the POS immediately.

Events

Choose a date, reserve tickets and find bookings: the new Events view brings these steps together. Expand the step you need below.

New Events viewiPad · landscape

  1. Choose a date

Use the date, arrows or calendar strip on the left to change the day. “Heute” returns to today.

  2. Open a time slot

Tap an event and time on the left. The right side offers “Buchungen” (Bookings), “Neue Buchung” (New booking) and “Termin” (Time slot). Search finds existing bookings; the funnel filters events.

  3. Select tickets

Under “Neue Buchung”, use plus and minus to set the quantity for each ticket type. Customer details and notes are directly below.

  4. Keep track

The top shows availability, confirmed tickets, reservations and capacity. The sliders icon opens quick settings.

Open “Einstellungen” from the start menu, then “Darstellung”. The screenshot is filtered to the relevant setting.

  2. Enable it for this device

Enable “Events-Schnellauswahl im Buchungsmodus”. The “Gerät” label means the setting applies to this iPad.

  3. Events beside the grids

In booking mode, “Events” appears before the grids, such as “Favoriten”. Tap it to open Events. The older settings help text still says “bottom left”; in the new interface, look in the grid selector.

Create and reserve a booking

Choose the day, event and time, then prepare the reservation under “Neue Buchung”. This example shows two tickets and fictional customer details.

  1. Ticket type and quantity

Use plus and minus to choose the tickets. The quantity and total for your selection appear at the bottom.

  2. Customer and note

Find an existing customer or open “Schnelleingabe” (Quick entry) to enter a name, contact details and an optional note.

  3. Reserve

“Reservieren” saves the selection as a reservation. No payment has been made yet. For Bookingkit time slots, current availability is checked before saving.

  4. Optional reservation date

The optional “Optionsdatum” adds a follow-up or deadline date to the reservation. It is separate from the event date, which you choose on the left.

Edit a reservation

Open the time slot and the “Buchungen” tab. This example shows a local garden reservation with a fictional name.

  1. Open the pencil icon

The booking card shows the name, status, tickets and amount. Use the pencil icon to open the reservation. You can also search using customer details.

  2. Update the details

For a local, unpaid reservation, you can change ticket quantities, customer details and the note. Tickets already paid for or transferred to Bookingkit cannot simply be reduced here.

  3. Save your changes

Use “Reservieren” to save the edited reservation. “Verwerfen” ends editing without applying these changes.

Pay for tickets

You can send a new selection to checkout immediately or take payment for an existing reservation later.

  1. Checkout or payment icon

For a new or opened booking, choose “Zur Rechnung”. In the booking list, the invoice icon opens the confirmation shown here and starts the same process. “Bezahlen” confirms the transfer to the till.

  2. Check before continuing

Check the time slot, tickets and amount. “Abbrechen” closes the confirmation and returns to the reservation.

  3. Complete payment at the till

The tickets are transferred to booking mode. Complete the bill with the required payment method as usual. Tickets become confirmed only after payment is completed. “Zur Rechnung” alone does not mean they are paid.

Bookingkit and quick settings

Bookingkit time slots appear in the same Events view. Some details continue to be managed by Bookingkit.

  1. Time slots from Bookingkit

Dates, times, availability and capacity come from synchronisation. Change these Bookingkit time slots in Bookingkit.

  2. Imported bookings are protected

Bookings imported from Bookingkit are managed by synchronisation. Customer details and transferred tickets are protected in the till; make rebookings in Bookingkit. This differs from a new reservation created in Megara for a Bookingkit time slot.

  3. Ticket-selection columns

The sliders icon at the top right opens quick settings. Under “Darstellung”, choose how many ticket categories appear side by side. Close the panel to return to the booking.
